Who is Jiva Gosvami?


One of the greatest vedic scholars, Jiva Gosvami is one of the six Gosvamis of Vrindavan. He is responsible for putting into writing the philosophy of the Gaudiya Vaishnava Sampradaya and the metaphysics expounded by Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. He was the nephew of Sri Rupa and Sri Sanatana Gosvami, the direct disciples of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. Sri Jiva Gosvami was also a student of Sri Nityananda, the direct associate of Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu.
