Joan was the first daughter and third child of John Lackland, born on July 22, 1210 in Gloucester. She married Alexander II of Scotland On June 21, 1221, at York Minster. Alexander was 23. Joan was 11. She died in Essex on March 4, 1238. They had no children.She was buried at Tarant Crawford Abbey in Dorset.
