Joe Penner (11 November 1904 - 10 January 1941) was a 1930s-era radio and film comic and vaudevillian. Penner was born Josef Pinter in Nagechkereck, Hungary. He and his family emigrated to New York City, passing through Ellis Island as a child and was launched on his successful radio career by Rudy Vallee. Penner was a zany comic noted for his catchphrase "Wanna buy a duck?" and his low hyuck-hyuck laugh. Joe Penner died of heart failure in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1941 while still at the height of his fame.
