The John Fitzgerald Kennedy Library is the presidential library and museum of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. It is located on Dorchester's Columbia Point in Boston, Massachusetts, USA, and was designed by the architect I.M. Pei. The building is the official repository for original papers and correspondence of the Kennedy Administration. The library's first floor features a museum containing video monitors, family photographs, political memorabilia, and many replicas — most notably, the Kennedy Oval Office and a replica of his brother Robert F. Kennedy's office at the Department of Justice. Two cinemas show documentary films. Other rooms display changing exhibits. Outside the library is Kennedy's sailboat, Victura. The library is located next to the Boston campus of the University of Massachusetts, overlooking Dorchester Bay, with a view of Boston Harbor and the city skyline. Kennedy and his wife "Jackie" were very young in comparison to earlier Presidents and first ladies, and were both extraordinarily popular in ways more common to pop singers and movie stars than politicians, influencing fashion trends and becoming the subjects of numerous photo spreads in popular magazines.
