John I (1346 - September 23, 1390) was Duke of Lorraine from 1346 to his death. He succeeded his father, killed in the battle of Crecy as a newborn baby. John married Sophie of Wurttemberg in 1361 and had the following children:

  • Duke Charles I of Lorraine (1364-1432)
  • Frederick of Lorraine, count of Vaudemont (1371-1415)
  • Isabelle of Lorraine (d.1423), married to Enguerrand VII, count of Coucy
