The John G. Munson's dimensions at the time of her launch were 666'03" (loa) x 72'00" beam x 36'00" depth, making her the largest self-unloader on the Great Lakes at the time.
The Munson's stern thruster was installed later as it was originally the bow thruster removed from the Enders.
Munson was elected president of both Michigan Limestone and its Bradley Transportation Division until 1939 when he became a vice president for the parent United States Steel Corp. He retained this position until his retirement in 1951.
