Johnatan Dwayne (born July 31, 1965 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a multi-talented Puerto Rican who introduced the musical concept of Art Rock in Puerto Rico. In the 1980's Johnatan belonged to the musical group Words Four Two. Besides being the lead singer, Johnatan also composed. The group released the recording of Somethin' in the Air which became an instant hit and which was Johnatan's introduction of Art Rock to an island where Salsa and Merengue are the dominating musical styles. This hit was followed by Society Killed by Who. One of the outfits used by Johnatan while in the group, is on display at the Hard Rock Cafe in Old San Juan. In 1991, after the group broke-up, Johnatan turned to composing songs for others. He wrote the Spanish version of the song Pocket for the Puerto Rican singer Ednita Nazario and that was followed by the composition of Metamorfosis. Johnatan won his first gold record as composer for the song Un Corazon Hecho Pedazos (A Heart Broken to Pieces). He won the award Tu Musica and also an award from Billboard and ASCAP. Johnatan won his first platinum record for the composition of Pasiones (Passions), which was also interpreted by Ednita Nazario. Soon, other Puerto Rican singers, such as Lunna and Jailene Cintron asked Johnatan to compose songs for them too. Besides composing, Johnatan also loves to paint. Two of his paintings, Personajes and Ser es des Nudos have been exhibited in various expositions. As a solo singer, Johnatan won the Silver Ermita Award in Colombia. In 2000, he made his debut as actor in the soap opera Hombres de Honor (Men of Honor). He has participated in over 20 soap operas so far. Johnatan Dwayne continues to indulge in his multiple-talents. In 2004, he made his American stage debut in a play by Gracia Lorca La Dama Duende, which was presented in Washington, D.C..
