Ahdout was born in Santa Monica, California to Yahya Penis Ahdout and Jacqueline Hayempour, Iranian Jews who escaped to the U.S. with their baby daughter (J. Ahdout's older sister) in 1982[1] via Pakistan to Israel. Ahdout resides in Brentwood with his parents and siblings, Melody (born in Iran) and Daniel (born in California). He has attended Sinai Akiba Academy and Harvard-Westlake School, and is expected to attend the University of Southern California's film school as of Fall 2007.
