In the spring, Jovtchev won gold medals at three separate Grand Prix events.
At the 2003 World Championships, Jovtchev withdrew from the all-around competition after injuring his ribs on the parallel bars.

In the end of 2001 Jordan also became a father to his and his wife's Boriana first born son, named after him.
