Josh and S.A.M. is a 1993 American family film.


The film is a road-trip themed dark comedy about two young brothers who run away from home due to emotional conflict over the divorce of their parents. Jacob Tierney plays older brother Josh who convinces younger brother Sam (Noah Fleiss) that his name is actually an acronym, and that he is a "Strategically Altered Mutant". Jacob Tierney (born on 26 September 1979 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) is a Canadian actor, film director and writer. ...


The two steal a car and head out on the road for Canada where Sam believes he can be deactivated adn turned into a human. The two naturally run into a variety of comedic (and sometimes frightening) situations. Along the way they encounter an older teen runaway named Allison (Martha Plimpton) who happens to resemble a made-up character called "The Liberty Maid" (part of Josh's story about Sam.) Martha Plimpton (3rd from the left) with the Goonies Cast 2004 Reunion Martha Plimpton (born Martha Carradine on November 16, 1970 in New York City) was born to famous actor parents Keith Carradine and Shelley Plimpton. ...


Eventually the two make their way back home after learning to trust and love one another in the face of the emotional turmoil of their new family situation.
