Julie Stevens, born 20 December1936 in Prestwich, England is a British actress. Before starting in television she trained as a nurse. She is best known in Britain for her appearances on children's television. She was a regular on Play School and Playaway with Brian Cant and provided vocals for the Schools Television seires Look and Read. During the 1962-63 season she played Venus Smith, an occasional partner of John Steed in the TV series, The Avengers; her character was a night club singer and each of her appearances included at least one musical number. As Venus Smith, Stevens alternated with Honor Blackman's Cathy Gale. She married actor John White in 1961.
