The July Stakes is a Group 2 United Kingdom flat racing horse race for two year old colts and geldings run over a distance of 6 furlongs at Newmarket Racecourse during July. (worth £70,000 in 2004).

Fourth of July weekend started off with a bang on Friday with seven graded stakes races across the country.
Next up at Belmont was the Grade 1, $200,000 Prioress for three-year-old fillies at six furlongs where favorite House Party went wide to avoid any trouble and cruised to an eacy 3 1/4 length victory over Chimichurri and Princess V. in a final time of 1:09 4/5.
The final stakes event of the day at Belmont was the Grade 2, $250,000 New York Handicap for fillies and mares at a mile and a quarter on the inner turf.
Minimum Requirements for Field Trials for Pointing Dogs - Western NY Pointing Dog Club (655 words)
Puppy Stakes: From January 1 to June 30 of each year for dogs whelped on or after January 1 of the year preceding, and from July 1 to December 31 of each year for dogs whelped on or after June 1 of the year preceding.
Derby Stakes: From July 1 to December 31 of each year for dogs whelped on or after January 1 of the year preceding, and from January 1 to June 30 of each year for dogs whelped on or after January 1 of two years preceding.
Stakes shall be run only on recognized game birds whose flight shall not be impaired by caging, hobbling, wing clipping, brailing or in any other manner.
