Description

The show followed the staff at the fictional fashion magazine Blush, and their wacky exploits. Stars included Laura San Giacomo (the anal retentive Maya Gallo), David Spade (the geeky Dennis Finch), Wendie Malick (the ex-model Nina Van Horne), George Segal (the Hefner-like Jack Gallo) and Enrico Colantoni as womanizing photographer Elliot DiMauro. The show ran for 7 seasons between 1997 to 2003. The show performed decently until its final season. After 6 years with the one ensemble, the producers chose to add in a new character - Vicki (Rena Sofer) - who was written out halfway into the season when the writers realized that fans were not responding well to her, and she was seen as detracting from storylines involving the original core characters. After 9 episodes had aired, the show was put on hiatus and, when NBC did return the show in April, the two episodes that then aired recieved low ratings. NBC put the show on an indefinite hiatus, acknowledging that they were cancelling it. Although a full season of 24 episodes had been produced, the show did not return to the air until July, when 10 more episodes were aired over 5 weeks. Three more episodes - including Sofer's final episode - weren't even played until syndication.
