The 2.4 L (2389 cc) KA24DE was used in many Nissan cars and trucks and was built in Aguascalientes, Mexico. It is a basic DOHC 4-valve engine producing 140 to 155 hp (104 to 115 kW) and 154 to 160 ft·lb (208 to 216 Nm). Bore is 89 mm and stroke is 96 mm. It has an cast iron engine block and aluminum DOHC cylinder heads. It uses SFI fuel injection, has 4 valves per cylinder with bucket tappets and features forged steel connecting rods, a one-piece cast camshaft, and a cast aluminum intake manifold.


It is used in the following vehicles:


Nissan Xterra Nissan Frontier Nissan Altima 1991-1998 Nissan 240SX (Canada, United States)
