KIMT is a CBS affiliate serving Mason City, Iowa, Rochester, Minnesota, and Austin, Minnesota. It currently broadcasts the UPN prime time schedule after CBS's late night block is complete. It's original call letters were KGLO, which, like the KGLO radio station, came from name from the Mason City's Globe Gazette newspaper. After an FCC-mandated break-up in 1977, Lee Enterprises, which owned all three at the time, sold KGLO TV, which them became KIMT. Its transmitter is located near St. Ansgar, Iowa.
