KMAX, part of the Paramount Stations Group, is the UPN affiliate for the Sacramento/Stockton/Modesto market, designated as the 19th largest market in the nation.
KMAX produces its own 4 and one-half hour Good Day Sacramento morning newscast, which is comparable to KTLA's Morning News in terms of its on-air feel.
KMAX did at one time have a prime-time newscast, when they pushed the UPN primetime back to 7:00pm and had 31 Action News at 9:00pm.
