KMZT 105.1 is a Classical Music station serving the Los Angeles market. they are owned by Mount Wilson FM Radio inc.


The station played Traditional and Contemporary jazz until 1989 when KFAC 92.23 dropped Classical Music and was sold to Evergreen and switched to a Popular music format called "The Beat" which evolved into Urban eventually.


In 1989 105.1 KMZT became the Classical music station for Los Angeles.

This came due to the fact that down the dial, KFAC dropped classical music in favor of a popular music format.
In 2003, the call letters were changed to the current KMZT, selected as to pronounce "Mozart".

This activity was precipitated by getting KMZT back on the air using a new receiving antenna site which substantially reduces the KLOA interference.
