History

The station signed on the air in 1960 as KOA-FM with a MOR and later a Beautiful music format. By 1976 they would flip to Top 40 as KOAQ(Q103), where it would enjoy a successful run. But on January 18, 1989 they would drop the format to become The Fox, and as of today continues in the Classic Rock format. The station is the flagship station for Clear Channel's "The Fox" radio station brand.
