KXRMs robotic servants, the first in local TV, are three pretty ordinarylooking studio cameras mounted on tracks amid the crowded newsroom.
Since KXRM started from scratch last year, it had the chance to buy some of the latest gear without dealing with older systems.
The cameras were supposed to be in place in October, when KXRM launched its in-house newscast, but they were accidentally shipped to Syracuse, N.Y. The station was counting on using the automated cameras, so it took a little creativity to get the news shot for the first few months.
