It is also famous for it is celebration of the assention of Mary on August 15th. On August 14th of each year, people flock to Jabal Al-Saidai from towns as far as Homs and the surrounding villages to celebrate that sacred Day to Christians. People are happy and parties are thrown in the surrounding area and on top of the mountain. It is knwon that people will not sleep that night at all, in particular the young ones.
