The late Colonel of the armed forces Obaidullah was also from this region. He belonged to a respected and an educated family. Due to a life time spent in the ISI and then in the NAB he was able to help many people. Even now almost a decade after his death his name evokes reverence.[1] Col. Raja M Wali Bargadier Raja Rashid Son of RAja wali Raja Hassan Akhter MNA Ghulam Mustafa Kiani (late)originally from Union Council Samote who worked in Land revenue and then after retiring entered the field of politics and became Chairman of Union Council Kallar Syedan. Many of the foundations of development of this area were laid down by Ghulam Mustafa Kiani including water projects, roads, schools, electricity etc. He passed away on 31.05.1999 where one of the largest funerals of this areas history occured.
