Kalpetta is the headquaters of Wayanad district in the state of Kerala in India. It is a small town surrounded with mountains, tea gardens and coffee plantations. Kalpetta is the only municipal town in Wayanad.It has standard hotel accommodations. It lies on the Kozhikode-Mysore National Highway (NH 212) at an altitude of 1000 meter above sea level between 14 degree latitude and 72 degree longitude.
