Kappel am Albis (47°13′40″N, 8°31′34″E) is a small municipality (population 891 as of 2003) in the urban administration district of Affoltern-am-Albis, Canton of Zurich, Switzerland.
Its name of Kappel (German: chapel) is specified by "at the Albis" to distinguish it from two other villages called Kappel in Switzerland as is the name Affoltern am Albis which is so named to distinguish it from the Affoltern city district in the City of Zurich.
It was the location of the Wars of Kappel in 1529 and 1531, during the turmoils that accompanied the Reformation of Huldrych Zwingli.

Kappel gehört zur Zeit der Helvetik (1798 - 1803) zum Distrikt Mettmenstetten, von 1803 - 1814 zum Bezirk Horgen, dann zum wiederhergestellten Oberamt Knonau, seit 1830 zum Bezirk Knonau, ab 1837 zum Bezirk Affoltern mit Hauptort Affoltern am Albis.
Jahrhunderts verfügten in Kappel verschiedene Adelshäuser über Rechtsansprüche.
