By Evan Ward - ewa@globe.net.nz

Kapuas Hulu (Upper Kapuas River) Is the home of the many diverse tribes and dialects from the Iban to the Silat with their many dialects. Some of the towns along the Sungai Kapuas are Sintang, Nanga Lebang,Nanga Ketungau, Nanga Silat, Semitau, Nanga Bunut, and Putussibau.

I lived with my parents for three years in Nanga Dangkan along the Sungai Silat, Near to BongKong which is where the road meets the Sungai Silat. Before that I lived in Riam Sejawak which is in the upper Sungai Ketungau.

I loved life in the interior of Kalimantan Barat, and recommend the experience to go see the natural beauty of the Kapuas Hulu.
