Katherine Lanpher, born May 27, 1959, was until recently a talk radio personality, and previously an award-winning journalist and newspaper columnist for the Saint Paul Pioneer-Press. Her career includes internships with the Muskegon Chronicle, the Detroit Free Press and the Chicago Sun-Times, where she danced her way through an investigation of dance studios. In April 2003, she was charged after allegedly hitting a car and leaving the scene in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Lanpher had a wide circle of friends in Minnesota politics, arts and journalism, and she could have worked here successfully for the rest of her life.
