After her marriage to Phil ended, Kathy spent the night with his brother Grant, she also had a brief encounter with Rev. Alex Healy. She revealed to Phil she had slept with Grant before returning to Africa. This led to a dramatic showdown between the Mitchell brothers while they were doing a robbery when Phil confronted Grant about sleeping with Kathy and this led to Grant's revelation that he only did it in revenge for Phil sleeping with Sharon years earlier.
