Kavajë (Albanian: Kavajë or Kavaja) is a city in western Albania (41.20 degrees North, 19.56 degrees East), the centre of the District of Kavajë. Kavajë was established in 1595 under the name of Kavalje which later on became Kavajë. It was the first city in Albania to start the anti-Communist revolution.
