In the context of the Politics of France under the Republic, "Keeper of the Seals" (Garde des Sceaux) is a title held by the Minister of Justice. Formerly, this title belonged to the Chancellor, the ancien régime counterpart of the minister of justice.
The Minister of Justice guards the Great Seal of France, dating from 1848, in his office, as well as the stamping press. The Seal was used in 1958 to seal the Constitution of France and has since been used to seal certain constitutional amendments.

VA Secretary of the Commonwealth: Seals of the Commonwealth
Pursuant to Section 2.2-402 of the Code of Virginia, the Secretary of the Commonwealth shall be the keeper of the seals of the Commonwealth.
Section 7.1-31.1 of the Code of Virginia provides that the seals of the Commonwealth are deemed the property of the Commonwealth; and no persons shall exhibit, display, or in any manner utilize the seals or any facsimile or representation of the seals of the Commonwealth for nongovernmental purposes unless such use is specifically authorized.
The Seals finished the second double header weekend in July with a sweep of the visiting teams, as they defeated the boys from Orange County with a sound 3-1 victory at USF Negoesco Stadium Sunday.
The Seals defense kept coming up big as well, and SealsKeeper Eric Conner had another all star game as he made several key saves to hold off a strong counter surge by the Storm as the half progressed through the latter stages.
But the Seals found the net fourteen minutes into the second half, as Alex Peterlin took a free kick at the 24 yard mark, and curled the kick through the collapsing wall, and into the near side of the net.
