Kendray is an estate in the borough of Barnsley. The estate lies between Sheffield road and Doncaster road, both of which lead out of Barnsley town centre. Kendray is one of the poorer areas of Barnsley, with social problems similar to those of Grimethorpe. Just under half of the old housing in Kendray has been demolished and replaced with grass fields. An amphitheatre and playground have been built on one of the old sites, and new housing is being conscructed on the other remaining sites. There are also plans to build a sport/leisure center on one of the sites.

Kendray, 19, of Norwich Road, Ipswich pleaded guilty to possessing a Class B drug with intent to supply.
Although Kendray purchased the drugs on behalf of his friend, Kate Stephenson, prosecuting, said that this was technically a case of possessing with intent to supply.
The two men were arrested and Kendray admitted the drugs were his, telling officers that he had bought 13 £10 bags from the man for the discounted price of £100 on behalf of his friends.
