Kentucky Lake is an artificial lake located in Calloway, Lyon, Marshall, and Trigg counties in Kentucky, and extending into parts of Tennessee. Created in 1944 by the Tennessee Valley Authority's impounding of the Tennessee River by Kentucky Dam[1], the 160,309-acre lake is the largest artificial lake in the United States east of the Mississippi River. The tailwaters of Kentucky Lake are considered one of the best Blue Catfish fisheries in the country, with record class fish taken on a year round basis.
