Khankendi - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (152 words)
Khankendi (Stepanakert) is a town in Azerbaijan 350 km west of the capital Baku.
Until 1991 the town was a provincial center of Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Region and currently it is the capital of the self-proclaimed Nagorno-Karabakh Republic.
Azeris refer to it by its pre-Soviet name Khankendi (meaning 'village of the khan').

I believe the category should be named Khankendi, since this is the most accurate English version of the current name of the town (Xankandi).
This is not the case with Khankendi (Stepanakert), as there is not even a single specialized web-site about this town, whether Armenian or Azeri.
