Also known as Kharkov State University or Karazin Kharkiv National University.
Kharkov University is one of the major universities in Ukraine and in the former Soviet Union. It was founded in 1804 through the efforts of V. N. Karazin, after whom the University is named, becoming the second oldest university in Ukraine after that of Lviv.
