Sake-Drenched Postcards - Factory Tour: Kikkoman Soy Sauce (894 words)
Indeed, Kikkoman is clearly the industry Godzilla, and the niche it has carved out in Noda City with its main factory is where it all began.
Finding the source of this heritage is simple: Once exiting the station, follow the fragrance along the main road and beneath a canopy of utility lines until reaching the 12 hulking and rusted steel storage tanks located at the center of the factory grounds.
Unlike the average multinational corporation, which cranks out cold-hearted, mass-produced products for the world market, Kikkoman's products are created through methods seen as similar to winemaking in their attention to detail.
Kikkoman Corporation (7363 words)
Kikkoman was awarded a letter of commendation for excellence at the Austrian fair; thereafter Saheiji Mogi redoubled his efforts to promote the Kikkoman brand.
At the time of the new corporation's founding, the two largest shareholders were Saheiji Mogi (with 28.4% of the total stock) and Shichirouemon Mogi (27.0%), for a combined total of 55.0%, based on assets contributed to the corporation.
Kikkoman's first real attempt to reach the international market can be dated from the US presidential elections of 1956, when the company bought television time to advertise its product to the non-Japanese audience in the midst of election coverage.
