Kilis is an ancient city, located in middle south east of Turkey at Syrian border with population of about 70,000. Mediterranian climate is experienced having winters warm and rainy ranging in temperature from -4 to +40 Celsius over the summer. Olive and grape production is still practiced. Kilis is surrounded by Gaziantep and Syria. It connects with Syria with Öncüpınar border. Kilis is 60 km from Gaziantep and 70 km from Aleppo. Kilis has been converted to a city in 6 June 1995, being the 79th city of Turkey.
