Kimbundu is one of the most spoken pre-colonial languages in central africa. It is still spoken in northern Angola, Zimbabwe, and other countries - the earlier Mbundu territory.


Some Kimbundu words were influent on latin-based languages, like Portuguese, with words like Bwe, Baza, Kuatu, Kamba, Arimo, Mleke, Xinga, Bunda, etc.
