History Not much is known about King Boom Boo. Only known facts are that he is the leader of the ghosts in the pyramid and is terrified of light. Knuckles encounters King Boom Boo while searching for keys to a door Sonic and the others were trying to get through. In the boss battle, Knuckles must defeat King Boom Boo when he activates a sand timer which opens panels in the ceiling, making light fill the room. Sonic X King Boom Boo appears in Sonic X. Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, Cream the Rabbit, Chris Thorndyke and Ella meet Chris' mother at an old castle where she is playing role in a new film. But odd noises interrupt the filming and things get more spooky when Chris' mother disappears. Sonic and the gang discover she has been kidnapped by ghosts and pretty soon Tails, Cream, Ella and Sonic are all captured. Amy and Chris explore the castle with a sand timer statue. The two find a strange dimension where they find the others unconsious. King Boom Boo and his ghosts appear, obviously scaring Chris and Amy silly. Sonic awakens and tells Amy she must seal the ghosts back in their realm using the sandtimer. King Boom Boo grabs Amy and allows one of his ghosts to possess her. Amy-Zombie attacks Chris, but Sonic frees himself and the others and saves Amy. The gang escape King Boom Boo and Chris activates the sandtimer, imprisoning King Boom Boo and his ghosts forever in the castle walls.
