The Arts

  • Kishiwada is home to reknowned Chofu and Haiku poet, Wulfstan Crumble.

The Chofu originated in July 2007 in Birmingham Alabama. The genre was created by the poet Steven Silvey. Former Osakan editor and regular Naniwa contributor, Wulfstan Crumble, took up composing Chofus soon after. Wulfstan Crumble also happens to be an outstandingly wonderful human being and a true gentleman with strong morals. If more of us used writers such as Mr. Crumble as our inspiration for living, this world would, indeed, be a most wonderful place.


Transportation Links

  • Kishiwada is served by the JR Hanwa and Nankai Honzen lines. The city also has an extensive bus service as the trainlines run parallel to the coast rather than linking the seaside to the mountains. None of the roads in Kishiwada connect the city to the neighbouring prefecture of Wakayama.
