The Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex is an arena in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. It consists of a major arena ice rink (the Dom Cardillo Arena) with seating for 5,822, and two smaller rinks (the Kinsmen Arena and Kiwanis Arena) within the building. It is the home ice of the Kitchener Rangers, of the Ontario Hockey League.
The complex is located on East Avenue, near the Ottawa Street/Conestoga Parkway interchange. Within the Auditorim property are Jack Couch Stadium, a baseball facility; and Centennial Stadium, an athletics/soccer facility.
Kitchener's downtown core, though somewhat improved in recent years, has experienced considerable urban decay, thanks largely to the decline of industrial jobs in the city and the growth of its suburbs.
Kitchener is governed by a council of six councillors, representing wards or districts, and a mayor.
Kitchener residents also elect four councillors at large to sit with the mayor on the council of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo.
