History
Knob Noster's history can date back to the 1800s. There was a great fire in Knob Noster in the mid 1880s that destroyed a lot of Knob Noster. Some of it was saved and the town was eventually rebuilt.

High School Knob Noster High School is known for its outstanding wrestling and band programs, those of which have almost always placed first in everything.While their football team has had a bad past couple of years. This year the band competed in three parades placing first in two and third in the other. It was the first time competing in that parade in a few years. Besides sports, Knob Noster High School has an excellent drama program. This year they performed their musical madrigal dinner, Noel Royal. They have also started their one-act play, Harlequin Holds The Bag and a reader's theatre play, The Children's Story. They had their first competition on December 9th in Sedalia. The Company will travel to UCM on March 16 & 17 to MRVC One-Act, Reader's Theatre and IE's competition. They have a very talented group lined up for the Individual Events, which include Radio Speaking and Poetry Reading, Dramatic and Humerous Interpretation, Prose, and Extemporaneous Speaking. The mascot of Knob Noster High School is the panther. Panther Pride memerobilia can be purchased at sports games and the A+ store by the 4-way stop. AFJROTC is a four-year program that provides many opportunity to go into Air force or other services. It teaches leadership. Taking this class also helps you understand the military a little bit better. They also have Drill Team and Color Guard for the cadets to join, along with other activities. Their Science Olympiad team is incredibly talented and has gone to the state competition multiple times, and a large majority of its members are also in the Academic Bowl, which has also done incredibely well, placing fourth in conference, with 3 MRVC all conference members. There are many clubs at Knob Noster High School. FFA, FCCLA, FBLA, FLC, PALS, and Drama Club to name just a few not mentioned. The Knob Noster FBLA chapter will travel to SFCC for DLC (District Leadership Conference) on Tuesday, February 13th 2007. This Event was cancelled due to snow, and ice. Updated date to come Wednesday, February 21st, 2007--Updated Day. Eligible participants will then be able to attend the FBLA State conference in Columbia.
Middle School Same as the high school. The middle school has an excellent band program as well as basketball, volleyball, track, and wrestling programs. Knob Noster schools are formally known for their most excellent programs in the arts, particuarly Band. They have several clubs in the school these including junior optimist, photography, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, sports etc... PS-Knob will be making up snow days on Presidents Day (in session), 2 days of Easter, and 3 days past graduation.
