Koekelare is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Bovekerke, Koekelare proper and Zande. On January 1st, 2004 Koekelare had a total population of 8,217 (4,137 males and 4,080 females). The total area is 39.19 kmē which gives a population density of 209.70 inhabitants per kmē.
