Encyclopedia > Komaki

Komaki (小牧市; -shi) is a city located in Aichi, Japan. It is commonly associated with Nagoya Airport, which is partly located in the city. The other part is in the city of Kasugai.


As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 145,953 and the density of 2,323.35 persons per kmē. The total area is 62.82 kmē.


The city was founded on January 1, 1955.

Komaki says the study also points out the need for more screening for lung cancer, especially of patients who are over the age of 50 and who smoke or were former smokers.
However, Komaki says, there was no significant difference in the sex or race of the two groups nor in their Karnofsky Performance Status, which is used to determine their ability to perform ordinary tasks.
Komaki believes the reason 3D-CRT works is that it allows the physician to increase the total dose to the tumor while lowering the dose to normal lung and surrounding critical structures, which in many inoperable patients are already compromised.
