Kowloon City (九龍城, Pinyin: Jiu3long2cheng2) is one of the 18 districts of Hong Kong. It is located in Kowloon. Population (2000): 406,000. Area: approx. 10 km.


Kowloon City District is chiefly a residential area.


Areas include: Ho Man Tin, Hung Hom, Kai Tak, Kowloon Tong, Ma Tau Wai, To Kwa Wan, Whampoa Garden.

History

Part of the district was the location the original "Kowloon City", see Kowloon Walled City. This is now Walled City Park.


The former Kai Tak International Airport was located in the district.
