The Krabby Patty formula seems to vary from episode to episode. The way in which the Krabby Patty is put together is mentioned in Plankton!, when Plankton almost succeeds stealing the formula. The format of the Krabby Patty is unknown because it is stated differently in the episodes. However, there is a secret sauce added, but its formula is kept a secret; very few sea creatures in the world know it. It is 100% unknown what the secret formula is, and Stephen Hillenburg has stated it will never become known to audiences. History According to Stephen Hillenburg, the Krabby Patty was originally supposed to be called the "Barnacle Burger". The Krabby Patty was not invented by Eugene Krabs, but by King Krabs, sometime before the 12th century. It was shown that King Krabs was cooking them, and then he named them "Krabby Patties."[1] Mr. Krabs once stated that the Krabby Patty recipe is an "old Krabs' family recipe." His mother also knows the recipe according to the episode when Plankton falls in love with her(Mama Krabs).[2] This article does not cite any references or sources. ...
The Krabby Patty first originated as a burger called the Plab Patty. It was created by Eugene Krabs and Sheldon Plankton. The Plab Patty tasted horrible and poisoned Old Man Jenkins. After a fight over who made the old man sick, they ripped the Plab Patty recipe in half. Krabs got the majority of the recipe, while Plankton only got the part that said "And a pinch of Chum". After that, they separated and created their own burgers. Plankton created a burger that's main ingredient was Chum, while Krabs created a burger called the Krabby Patty, which was created by accident when some spices fell into a pot of meat. When they sold their burgers only Krabs was successful. However, because Spongebob and Patrick changed time in 'Dunces and Dragons' all but the last partmay not have happened after alla Not long after, Eugene H. Krabs decided to create a restaurant to sell his Krabby Patties (which raised his family from poverty). He renovated the local (failing) retirement home, "The Rusty Krab," which he later renamed the Krusty Krab. The renovations largely consisted of painting a "K" next to the "R" in Rusty Krab. The new Krusty Krab became Bikini Bottom's most popular restaurant, because of the Krabby Patty.[3] A retirement home is a place of residence intended for the elderly. ...

Plankton acquired the secret formula to the Krabby Patty using his evil Plan Z. Side effects Krabby Patties have an unfortunate side-effect: if too many are consumed, the fat and starch (and possibly other undersea nutrients) will go to the consumer's thighs and cause them to explode. Using cartoon physics, however, the consumer will be reduced to a (still-living) head, which detaches from the body which has been reduced to normal size. Such has happened to Squidward Tentacles, in Just One Bite when he broke into the patty vault and ate too many Krabby Patties at once. For other uses, see FAT. Recipe In a feature on the DVD release of "Nautical Nonsense and Sponge Buddies", Tom Kenny (the voice of Spongebob) mentioned that there is a real Krabby Patty recipe, and many fast-food entrepreneurs have tried to ask for it. When the actors who play the characters on the show first signed up, they (quoted by Tom Kenny) "had to sign reams and reams of disclaimers saying that, 'if the true Krabby Patty recipe were to ever be revealed to anyone, then... there would be auditions for your character the next day.'" On the same DVD an interview with Bill Fagerbakke gave a clue to what the Krabby Patty recipe (quoted by Bill Fragerbakke) "All I know is that there's a lot of seahorses disappearing a lot lately and that's all I know." But in the Spongebob trivia book the Krabby Patty recipe is revealed. The recipe is also the same recipe revealed in the episode "Pickles". The recipe is "bun, patty, ketchup, mustard, pickle, onions, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes and bun." This, of course, is not the real recipe either because, as witnessed by the picture above, the order is at minimum; bun, secret sauce, patty, cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, bun; the order of ketchup, mustard, pickles and other condiments cannot be discerned from the picture. However, The Krabby Patty Secret Formula was posted on the Nick Jr. Website! The recipe is as follows; The Krabby Patty Secret Formula Here's the recipe . . . but don't tell Plankton! Servings: Serves 8 Prep Time: 20 minutes Ingredients 2 tbsp. finely chopped onion 2 tbsp. finely chopped celery 4-6 tbsp. vegetable oil 1 tsp. thyme 1 lb. frozen imitation crabmeat, (defrosted and finely chopped in a food processor) 3/4 cup seasoned bread crumbs 1 tbsp. Dijon mustard 2 tbsp. mayonnaise (plus 1 cup for dipping sauce) 2 eggs, lightly beaten Salt and pepper (to taste) 3 tbsp. ketchup (for dipping sauce) Start Cooking Step 1 Sauté the onions and celery in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil. Add the thyme, lower the heat, and cook until the onions are translucent. Step 2 In a large bowl combine the crabmeat, sautéed onions and celery, bread crumbs, Dijon mustard, mayonnaise, egg, salt and pepper to taste. Stir to combine. Step 3 Shape into rounds by using a small ice cream scoop, then gently pat flat. Step 4 Heat 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large skillet. Working in batches (2 to 3 crab cakes at a time) place the crab cakes in a skillet and cook until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. You may need to add more oil for the second and third batches. Step 5 Preheat the oven to 400°F. Transfer the crab cakes to the baking pan and bake for 10 minutes. The crab cakes can be kept in a warm oven for approximately 30 minutes, or they may be reheated at serving time. Serve with a kid-friendly dipping sauce. Mix 1 cup of mayonnaise with 3 tablespoons of ketchup. However, this formula may not be correct, seeing as if Mr. Krabs used this formula, he would be eating his own species.
