Krishnapur (Krishnapura) is a village located near Surathkal and comes under the limits of Mangalore city corporation, Karnataka, India . The Krishnapura houses one of the Ashta (Eight) Matha's founded by Dwaitha philosphor Sri Madhwaacharya of Udupi. The Matha (Monastery) is known as Krishnapua Matha (Mutt). The idols of Kalingamardana krishna are worshipped here. The matha houses a Mukyaprana (Maruti) temple inside, where everyday puja is performed. The swami looks after affairs of matha. The Krishnapura matha has number of branches all over India.
