History
Basara lived in peace with his wife, Kagaribi, in the village of Tanba, until the monstrous demonic swordsman Minazuki Zankuro came through and slaughtered everyone. Basara's last thoughts were of Kagaribi and wanting revenge on Zankuro. As a result, Basara was able to return to the mortal realm as a sort of ghost in order to exact his revenge.
