Kung Fu was the first single released from the album 1977 by the Britpop band Ash on March 20 1995 as a CD single, limited edition 7” and standard 7” vinyl and included “Day of the Triffids” and “Luther Ingo’s Star Cruiser”.

It reached number 57 in the UK charts and the sleeve pictured footballer Eric Cantona’s infamous kick on a spectator that occurred in January 1995. In an away match against Crystal Palace F.C., Cantona launched a 'kung-fu' style kick against a spectator after being sent off by the referee. He was sentenced to 120 hours of community service after an appeal court overturned a 2 week prison sentence for assault. He was also suspended by the Football Association until October.

The song also features as track 11 on Intergalactic Sonic 7’’s (September 9, 2002) Ash’s singles collection album.

The Tai Chi Master (2005) (1164 words)
After learning about a powerful style of kung fu known as Tai Chi and only taught to members of the Chan family, kung fu practitioner Yu-qian sneaks into the training area in disguise to watch the clan master, Chan Ching-ying (Yue Hoi) at work.
As pressure increases on Master Chan to fight with the lord, Yu-qian puts his newfound kung fu expertise to use in a multi-level, pagoda-style match arranged by a Qing princess who is attracted to him.
This, however, is a welcome chance to see Chinese television production and kung fu screen fighting at their best and in a form where you can actually follow along.
