Kuroishi (黒石市; -shi lit. black stone) is a city located in Aomori in Tohoku region of Japan.


As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 38,873 and the density of 179.17 persons per km. The total area is 216.96 km.


The city was founded on July 1, 1954.
