Kurt Vincent Thomas (born October 4, 1972, in Dallas, Texas) is an American professional basketball player with the National Basketball Association's (NBA) San Antonio Spurs. Thomas is a 6'9", 235 lb. power forward/center known for his hard-nosed playing style and tough defense. After graduating from Dallas' Hillcrest High School, he graduated from Texas Christian University, where he led the NCAA Division I in scoring and rebounding, becoming only the third player in history to accomplish this feat.[1] A natural power forward, he spent most of his career playing the center position with the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns. Despite being undersized at that position, he is renowned for his ability to grab rebounds, and for his consistent mid-range jumpshot.
