The Kutchi language originates from Kutch, India. It is comparable to Sindhi. In fact it is a mixture of Sindhi, Gujarati, Punjabi & Rajasthani. Kutchi sounds like Sindhi but the vocabulary is closest to that of Gujarati. Kutchi was originally written using the now extinct Khojki or Khojaki (of Khojas) script. Kutchi survives only as a spoken language now as it is written using the Gujarati alphabet. Kutch (also Cutch or Kachh) is a district of Gujarat state in western India. ... It was only until the devastating earthquake in 2001 which shook our community the hardest that KW began to emerge with its objectives becoming more clear.
During this painful time the Kutchi community showed solidarity, support and love rarely seen in previous years.
Many youngsters arranged charity events to raise money for the disaster whilst the older generation also contributed in the best ways they knew how.

Kennedy gives the name of the Kutchi women's group as "Kutch Vikas Mahila Sangathan" whereas it should be "Kutch Mahila Vikas Sangathan." Similarly the acronym KVMS should be KMVS.
