The Kyles of Bute are a narrow sea channel which separates the northern end of the Isle of Bute from the Scottish mainland. The narrowest strait is only some 300m across and is spanned by a ferry.

The Burnt Islands lie in the northen part of the Kyles, and the island of Eilean Dubh lies at the entrance to Loch Riddon.
